The construction assistant that's always watching your supply.

BauTrace reads your invoices, contracts and delivery notes, answers questions with proof, and warns you before a material runs out.

BauTrace

BauTrace is the AI reading everything your project already produces. Capture every invoice and contract, connect it to what's actually happening on site, and never get surprised by a shortage again.

Our platform

Let's make your paperwork flow.

One system for the documents, questions, and warnings that used to live in three different folders.

Prototype screen: project documents list with contract, invoice, delivery note and plan set, each matched and status-tagged Prototype screen, recorded: clicking between materials shows stock on hand, days until a gap, supplier and lead time Prototype screen, recorded: a question about a drawing tolerance gets an answer with a citation back to the source Prototype screen: material costs broken down by steel, cement and wood with a running total Prototype screen, recorded: a document graph traces the route from a delivery note to the two invoices that reference it
A designed interface prototype with example data — not our real document-reading engine

Why it matters

Fewer surprises on site.

Two site workers reviewing building plans together on a tablet
Checking the plan on siteThe same kind of check BauTrace runs automatically, in seconds

Unlocked knowledge

Answers that used to take an afternoon of digging through folders come back in seconds, with the source attached.

Matches our working prototype

A real early warning

BauTrace tracks material left against real supplier lead times, not what was promised.

Example, not real project data

Costs you can actually see

A bundled invoice becomes a per-material breakdown, assigned to the project it belongs to.

Built for the German market

One material, three names. BauTrace knows it's the same thing.

German suppliers name the same material differently depending on the invoice, standard, or region. BauTrace matches these names to each other instead of counting them as separate line items.

Example
Zement CEM II 42,5
Portlandzement
CEM II/B-S 42,5 R
↓ matched to the same material
Cement — 156 t this project

Three names, one material, one amount in the cost breakdown.

About us

Rethinking paperwork.

Built by one founder during the AI Start programme who believes construction teams deserve better tools than a shared folder and a search bar. Not a team of twelve with a funding round — one working prototype, tested end to end, looking for the first construction company willing to try it on a real project.

The prototype already works.

BauTrace already reads documents, answers questions with a citation back to the exact source line, and forecasts material shortages from delivery history. We're now looking for construction companies to pilot it on a real project.
